Often also in rural areas, these people are hit by the double jeopardy of transport and digital connectivity issues. With limited means to digitally connect, vital in a modern economy, few businesses can or will locate in these areas leading to further deprivation and lack of opportunities. This lack of opportunity means people are unable to access many of the benefits of our prosperous society.
We plan to work with Governments, business and communities to connect up these communities and provide adequate digital access to more of them. By looking beyond the 10MBPS connection we can provide more people with the opportunity to benefit from regions strong performance in high-value sectors like cyber and technology or digital and creative work.
